Micropigmentation (permanent cosmetics) is the art and science of implanting color into skin to create beautiful and natural enhancements of facial features.  Permanent makeup is similar to a tattoo in many ways, however it is also different.  One difference is that ink is used for tattoos and pigment is used for permanent cosmetics.  The pigment used in permanent makeup is very important.  Linda Gutzkow's Permanent Cosmetics uses the highest quality hypoallergenic pigments available to ensure client safety. These pigments are beautiful with many choices of colors and tones.  Another difference is that permanent makeup will just gradually fade overtime.  Therefore, as trends change or a clients' makeup taste changes so can the permanent makeup.  Typically clients will have their permanent makeup touched up every 3-5 years.  However, the lifespan of the permanent makeup varies per individual based on sun and chlorine exposure and other factors.

Anyone, young or old, can benefit from permanent makeup.  It is especially beneficial to people who cannot wear regular cosmetics due to allergies and skin sensitivities.  Allergies can cause itchy watery eyes.  Traditional makeup will run and smear with watery eyes whereas permanent makeup will continue to look perfect.  The number of people suffering from allergies is increasing and this is one reason permanent makeup is becoming more common. When vision or motor skills are impaired due to age or any other reason permanent makeup can make looking beautiful a lot easier.  It is difficult to impossible to apply makeup with glasses on and many times too difficult to apply makeup without glasses.  Besides being able to see well it is important to have steady hands when applying traditional makeup.  People who suffer from Parkinson's Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Arthritis or many other ailments don’t have steady hands.   Again, permanent makeup is a perfect solution for these situations.

Each of these services includes two appointments about 6 weeks apart.
The second appointment is optional. All of the services provided are
custom procedures based on the desired appearance of the client.

Clients are very involved in the process of applying eyebrows.  The first part of the process is drawing on the eyebrows.  This step is so important that it often takes longer to draw on the eyebrows perfectly than apply the pigment.  The shape, size and color of the eyebrows can alter the expression of a clients face. It is very helpful to bring a couple pictures of desired eyebrows to the appointment. 

There are two different methods of applying permanent eyebrows.  The filled in method is great for clients who have been drawing their eyebrows on everyday.  Usually these clients like a very perfect eyebrow and the filled in eyebrow gives that look.  The second method is the hair-stroke eyebrow.  In this method small lines are created with the pigment to resemble hair.  This method is great for clients who want a very natural look.  Skin will show through the lines like it does on natural eyebrows and the edges of this type of eyebrow will be less smooth.

Clients should pick a lip color they would enjoy for everyday events and activities.  It is very helpful to bring a lipstick that the client likes to the appointment.  The artist will be able to create a pigment to match the desired color.
