EYELINER Eyeliner is a very popular permanent makeup procedure. Unlike penciled on eyeliner, permanent eyeliner can be applied directly in the eyelashes. This method creates fuller and darker looking eyelashes and a beautiful natural look. Clients can choose to have simply top, bottom, or both top and bottom eyeliner. The color and amount of eyeliner applied is based on the customer's desire. Clients' requests can range from a subtle change such as an eyelash enhancement to a bold new look using a broader line. Thickness and placement is discussed thoroughly between the client and the artist prior to the procedure. Customer involvement results in high client's satisfaction and excellent results. The eyelids will be somewhat swollen for about 48 hours after the procedure. It is important to ice the eyes several times in the first couple of days. Proper icing keeps swelling down. Also an ointment will need to be applied a couple times a day for 7 days. It is important to not wear makeup on the procedure area for 7 days to avoid the possibility of infection. A variety of colors are available for eyeliner. The most common color chosen is brown black. The artist can help choose a color that will look great if a client is unsure. |

| EYEBROWS Eyebrows are currently the most popular permanent makeup procedure. Many people have little or no eyebrows either from over-tweezing, ailments, or age. Eyebrows are a very important feature of the face. They are like a frame on a picture and can really change a persons' appearance. The shape and color selection is unique for each client based on skin tones and face shape. Clients are very involved in the process of applying eyebrows. The first part of the process is drawing on the eyebrows. This step is so important that it often takes longer to draw on the eyebrows perfectly than apply the pigment. The shape, size and color of the eyebrows can alter the expression of a clients face. It is very helpful to bring a couple pictures of desired eyebrows to the appointment. There are two different methods of applying permanent eyebrows. The filled in method is great for clients who have been drawing their eyebrows on everyday. Usually these clients like a very perfect eyebrow and the filled in eyebrow gives that look. The second method is the hair-stroke eyebrow. In this method small lines are created with the pigment to resemble hair. This method is great for clients who want a very natural look. Skin will show through the lines like it does on natural eyebrows and the edges of this type of eyebrow will be less smooth. The eyebrows will need to be about 20% darker than the desired result upon completion of the application. Within a week the eyebrows soften and fade to the desired color. An ointment must be applied 2-3 times per day for 7 days following the permanent makeup procedure. It is important that no makeup is applied to the procedure area for 7 days to avoid infection. |

| LIPS Linda Gutzkow's Permanent Cosmetics offers lip procedures. This service includes the liner and the lip fill color. As we age lips fade, thin, and become less defined. Permanent lip liner and fill can reverse these aging effects. The lip pigments are translucent to allow for a natural and healthy appearance versus an intense, thick lipstick look. After healing, to create a different look for those special occasions, lipstick can be applied over the permanent make up. Permanent lips are wonderful for people who don't have a well defined lip line or have problems with conventional lipstick bleeding across the lip line. Often as people age they loose lip definition and therefore the lips appear smaller. Most lipsticks contain alcohol which dries lips out when worn. For clients who struggle with chapped lips permanent lips can be a great solution. Clients who don't like the feel of lipstick also love this procedure. Clients should pick a lip color they would enjoy for everyday events and activities. It is very helpful to bring a lipstick that the client likes to the appointment. The artist will be able to create a pigment to match the desired color. After the procedure the lips look very swollen and bright. It is important to apply ice to the lips several times a day for a couple days following the procedure. The lips will remain bright for about 5 days and then fade and soften. Usually lips go from too bright to too light to just right. The final result is beautiful and appears about 2 weeks after the procedure. |
